Graduating with academic distinctions from Stanley Medical College and completing her post-graduation from Madurai Medical College, Dr. Kavitha Lakshmi furthered her specialization with a fellowship in phacoemulsification at Sankara Nethralaya. She holds the prestigious RATAN TATA Fellowship in Advanced Cataract Surgery from the same institution.
Dr. Kavitha Lakshmi is renowned for her advanced surgical techniques, including the use of Aspheric, Toric, Multifocal, Trifocal, EDoF IOLs, and ICLs. She has performed over a 50,,000 free cataract IOL eye surgeries and is a leading expert in phacoemulsification and MICS (Micro Incision Cataract Surgery). with more than two lakh happy patients. Her innovations, such as NO INJECTION, NO PAIN, NO STITCH MICS, and LASER-assisted BLADELESS LASIK – Trans PRKsurgery, have significantly improved the quality of life for thousands of patients across India.

Dr. Kavitha Lakshmi’s commitment to community service is evident through her innumerable free vision screening camps for school children and general public and free catraract surgery camps. She is a recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, including the Good Citizen Award, Best Doctor Award, and Best Doctor Couple Award from various organizations like IMA, LIONS Club and other NGOs. She has been honored by the District Collector of Kancheepuram for her outstanding number of free cataract surgeries for the underprivileged as an NGO.
